Orkla City was set up in 2018-2019 and the balcony railing, Powerrail, was commissioned in February 2019. The railing measures approx. 35 meters, has two-sided solar cells and generates an estimated 10,000 kWh/year. The builder chose clear glass to emphasize solar cells and energy production.

The customer’s requirement to have certain transparency and at the same time a maximum yield was achieved by leaving estimated distances between the cells. And it was really an aesthetically excellent choice!
In situations with reflected light from the cell, it is always a good idea to consider using bifacial cells for the maximum generated energy. It is particularly evident in various railing systems, e.g., balconies and carports.
